It’s another one more good news to we all Nepalese residing in Australia and a best way to celebrate we Hindu’s biggest and auspicious festival Dashain and Tihar through Cruise Party event which is going to be held in Sydney in November 2nd, 2008.

The event is being organized by NADF which is also the first any Nepalese organization that is registered in Australia for the first time in history and who has already organized many events for good cause and helped Nepal and help needed victims as a social helping hands.

NADF is organizing this Cruise Party especially by keeping in mind of our biggest and most important festival Dashain and Tihar, which is a good one and good step to make all Nepalese together in same place having a Nepali touch and feeling in the party.

This party is not only for the celebration among us but itself is a charity party too. The amount collected from the party will be donated to the people affected by the disastrous Koshi Flood in Nepal and which are really a good social cause and a best medium. So, why to think more? Be in the party and have fun and beside the fun you are doing some social helps too. So, be the part of it, don’t miss the party so that you could contribute to re-settle the flood affected victims of Nepal.

According to the organizer “Gopi Subedi” the venue will be in between opera house and the Botanical Garden on November 2nd, 2008 Sunday sharp at 5 pm and he welcomes hearty to everyone.

The event ticket is AU $ 40.00 which includes Starter, Main Course, Kids Program, DJ, and Lucky Draw. This Cruise Party will run for fixed 4 hours. The Cruise is capable of carrying 600 – 650 people on board but the tickets printed are limited so rush as soon as possible to grab the ticket and be sure to be in the party says G Subedi.

We should thank NADF for providing events among us Nepalese so that we could be in touch with all the other Nepalese people living here and I hope we all Nepalese is hoping for more events to be organized and celebrated here in Sydney as well as other cities of Australia too so that we could be the one in the world to whom world knows.

Venue: Between Opera House and Botanical Garden
Date: November 2nd 2008, Sunday
Time: Sharp 5 PM
Ticket: $40.00

As I informed about this musical show in my past blogposts now I am informing some of the experiences from that night.

The cold air was already hitting the environment but the environment of the venue was getting hotter as the time was tickling in its own speed with about more than 1000 Nepali music fan’s crowd.

From the band only 4 artists were there where Adrian was the most favourite artist of my own personal choice so I was just there to hear only him. The show started after when the night was totally dark and could find lots of Nepalese girls and guys which were unfamiliar to me, coz I knew only few from that crowd.

1974 Ad performed LIVE with their lots of mega hits charts and I am pretty sure that their most of songs are best of many people too. The magical and musical grip left the crowd at only 3 am which we should figure out a late night show.

It was fantastic, it was refreshing to shout and jump and to be one of the fan from the crowd and ofcourse the beers and the shots were equally making beautiful night.

And I must say that Sydney is getting bigger with Nepalese people and musics and events which help us to feel like we are in Nepal and moreover, the biggest festival Dashain is on its way so this show really made an effort to feel like home.

At the end, I would like to share Happy Dashain to all and request everyone “please make an environment of inviting Nepalese artists more in Sydney and to introduce Nepal in the world.”

Message to 1974 AD: You rocked the night guys. You are always welcome with your music here in Sydney. Thanks for beautiful night you gave to all Nepalese there including me. Thanks.

(I was quite busy so i am posting about this event today and pictures will be update very soon, i appreciate your regular visits, thanks. – xeric)

It’s really hard to find a job here and even you get its hard to perform 100 percent because of lack of experience. So, it would be helpful for you if you gain some experience on some works. And getting a job is must here to survive in anywhere in Australia.

At first Nepali comes here in Australia with a student visa and then they have to apply for the working visa which limits only up to 20 hours work limitation per week. Not only Nepali but other countries students also do the same.

Until you get legal work visa from immigration department of Australia, it’s illegal to work anywhere which might make you a problem if immigration office knows about it, they can send you back to Nepal because your first priority is to study here not only work.

The same action can be taken for those who work more than 20 hrs even after they get the work visa permit because its limitation is only 20 hrs per week.

If you come to Sydney, first you have to enrol in your college or in university and then the next day you can go to the immigration office which is in near the central station and apply for the work permit visa. You have to wait for the approval and the whole process may take time of 1 to 4 working weeks. You have to pay $60 within the application and you can apply through internet or through offline process.

And one more thing to make international students reminder that you should not miss the college or universities classes, if your attendance is low or if you are not regular to classes the college/university can inform to the immigration which also cause your visa refusal. Or if you fail your exams you have to pay fines and have to appear again in exam. This has happened with lots of students because they give much priority to the work and quit their classes.

So the index message to remember is, you are a student here in Australia and you came here for only study, work and job is your secondary priority. First be graduated or clear your study and the look for vast opportunity. Australia is a land of opportunity. You won’t be late or unhappy when you are done with your studies.

For further information and assistance visit immigration department office website.

The event was named as Nomination Night with $35.00 ticket per head where we found former Miss Nepal Payal Shakya with her boyfriend Sarun Tamrakar who is a famous Nepalese singer and beside then we spotted Nepal’s Top Image channel’s famous RJ Shristy too.

According to the big crowd and my experience I can say that the event is a huge success and the organizer must be happy with the response. Dance party was another media which made audiences hot to trot and the big night for Nepalese crowd one again.

Check the Pictures to see what happened there in Nomination night of the big event and the first time ever Miss Nepal 2008. [Location: Cockle Bay Wharf; City: Sydney; Country: Australia]

Here is the very good news for all the Nepalese living Sydney again. Something very interesting contest is going to happen again in Sydney where you live far away from home. Moreover this is the very happiest news for married womens. This is the opportunity for them because this is the contest of Mrs. Nepal Australia which is being held in Nepal.

Mrs Nepal Australia Pageant is the first ever held beauty pageant of this kind in Australia.
The organizers aim to celebrate and salute the contribution that every individual woman has made for the betterment of this world through their character and substance. This event will also give an opportunity to Nepalese women from various walks of life to showcase their achievements at home, family, career, profession and business serving as a role model to others in this emerging community.

The participants will also inspire others by virtues of their cultural pride, leadership and family value hence helping new and old migrants integrate and succeed in their new environment and new home Australia.

This event will also promote Nepalese community and their people to wider Australian community.

Parents tell to the television how their daughter died of her depression. Depression is one of the dangerous illness and negative thoughts that makes people to commit suicide too. This case is one of the example for this illness where the little beautiful, smat, popular girl committed suicide because of her depressions and her wrong decision to fight against it herself without explaining or sharing it to anyone.

Picture of Late Hannah Modrah

The following news/report is based on what I got in msn today. I thought this article would make a little message to anyone who are or aren’t depressed in their life that you are not alone in this world. Ask for the help before it goes wrong and change your life where nothing is sure and achievable.

It’s good that not to bother is good but if something is beyond your reach then you should consult someone who can handle or suggest you something.

Please read the following message below that I found in MSN News Headlines.

Beautiful, smart and popular, 17-year-old Hannah Modra seemed a picture of success to all who knew her. But the Melbourne school girl was hiding a secret illness within the pages of her diary — an illness that ultimately took her life.

After a sudden onset of depression, the bubbly Year 12 prefect at Mount Waverley Secondary College committed suicide in January, shocking her family and friends. “Hannah was a beautiful, successful, delightful girl,” father Mark Modra told ABC’s Australian Story.

“It just seemed too sad and unbelievable that such a thing could happen to someone so happy, beautiful, friendly and helpful.” Mr Modra and his wife Ellen are speaking out about their daughter’s tragic death to raise awareness about depression.

“We could have chosen to try and keep the whole thing quiet, to cover it up with some story that might have covered up the awful truth, but from very early on we decided that there was nothing for us to be ashamed of,” Mr Modra said.

Hannah wrote about suffering from depression in her diary, but admitted “fear of embarrassment and pride are keeping me both from medication and counsellors”. In a diary entry on the day of her death, Hannah wrote: “Fainted at school today, at the front of the whole assembly.

“Most people managed to finish all their homework … I feel like I can’t do anything … I don’t want to bring down my whole school score, is it just because I’m tired?” It wouldn’t (be) that hard just to end it all.”

Hannah’s mother Ellen told Australian Story her daughter’s biggest mistake had been to try and fight her depression on her own. “She had no idea she could die from this illness and she thought she could get through it without bothering anybody.”

If you need support or information about suicide prevention contact Lifeline on 13 11 14 or SANE Helpline on 1800 18 SANE (7263). (in Australia)
